As if palling around with Mike Haggar didn’t suggest it enough, Capcom removed all doubts by giving Cody a prison jumpsuit. (Via theinternetcourt.)

Reasons why Mike Haggar reads as a Tom of Finland rip-off: his build, his moustache and the fact that he wears that single, over-the-shoulder suspender suspender that I’ve never seen outside of a Tom of Finland sketch.
(Hat tip to the awesome Bears in Games, for pointing out that visual similarity.)
Kiss! Kiss! (The very homoerotic box art for the Super Nintendo version of Final Fight, via.)
Not sure if this is official Capcom artwork or not, but damn. I found this on this site, surrounded by official-looking artwork. I’m pretty sure that’s supposed to be Cody on the right and that may well be Cody on the left, too, though it could also be a topless Poison. Anyone?
What’s that Capcom? You don’t want a transexual like Poison in the Super Nintendo port of Final Fight? Problem solved: Replace her with Billy and Sid, two punks wearing skin tight pants, ripped wifebeaters and handcuffs and accessories! That totally eliminates the problem of having queer elements in your manly little video game.
Two totally valid questions: Where are all the women in this bar? And why are there so many muscle men ordering drinks? (Via Bears in Games.)
You know, while I’m at it, here’s the full video fo the Bears in Games analysis of the gay-gay-gay Final Fight. It’s insightful and fascinating. Even if you’re not a bear guy, Bears in Games will rock your face.

Complaint, praise or confession? You decide. (Mike Haggar from Saturday Night Slam Masters, via bison2winquote.)
Just to be clear here, Cody is speaking of Jessica and not Guy. But I’d forgive you for presuming the framing of the scene implied otherwise.
Shouldn’t the mayor be able to screen out pervy phone calls? Hot damn, Final Fight is the gayest thing since sodomy.
Awkward news regarding our favorite transsexual video games character. On one hand, Capcom is keeping quiet about her anatomy, which is a reverse from the previous position of “In America, she’s post-op. In Japan, she tucks.” On the other, GLAAD is helping Capcom write the dialogue spoked by and to Poision.
But hey — Capcom can retcon away, but she’s still my lady.
